it's
easy to spot the winners . . . can we count you amount them?
Example: Small business owner
running a small dried flower delivery and trade fair business out of her
home. She had wanted to expand her business into a full scale retail
operation.
Result: After several months this client was able to open an 1100
sqft.
retail store in West Phoenix, Arizona, and in less than one year she is
breaking-even. This client was given assistance with business planning,
store selection, merchandise selection, concept development, and ongoing
guidance. She is on her way to becoming a profitable success.
UPDATE: Three months before this store celebrated its one year
anniversary, the owners were able to open a second location devoted to
wedding planning. One week before their one year anniversary, the owners
were able to expand for a second time, opening a second full service flower
shop. Within less than one year, this client was able to meet their
projected sales figures and expand to include three locations.
Example: What would our job be without a successful clothing
boutique? The concept was to open a small 1,000 sqft. mid-range women's shop
carrying "ethnic" clothing and accessories.
Result: Time lines and funding were the issues with this project. After
months of finalizing this client's lease, the store opened and sales have
increased according to plan. Development of a solid merchandising plan was
very important. Creating the right look and feel made this store look as if
it had a large budget, when in fact it did not. The pleasure in this field
comes when you see the success and joy on a new clients face.
Example: Woman's pro Golf
Shop:
The owners had moved to Phoenix only a few months before seeking assistance.
Their plan was to open a full scale, upper class store by the end of the
year.
Result: Developing a complete concept and business plan were the first
steps; from there the rest was easy. Within two days of submitting their
application for funding, they were accepted under the SBA Low Doc program
and they were rolling. Complete coordination of store opening,
merchandising, pricing, and general operations provided this client with the
tools for success. Success is not a dream.
UPDATE: This client experienced over $100,000 in sales in their first
three months, and closed their first year in business at the half a million
mark. This client is now planning new locations in other states.
Example:
Red Horse in Steam Boat Springs, Colorado was one of those
stores that was just fun to develop. This client's idea was to open a small
Scandinavian shop in this little town, with no direct experience while
working across two states, her plans materialized.
Result: After months of merchandise selection, store layout and design
work, and surviving location problems, fixture problems and late
merchandise, this little store produced $42,000 in sales for December [this store opened in October of the same year]. Development and execution
of her business plan, proper merchandise selection and presentation proved
to produce higher than anticipated sales for this new business. This store
was able to show a profit, paying the owner a salary within her first year
in business.
